October 3, 2012

TORONTO – Making our communities greener and Canada are more environmentally-friendly place was one of Jack Layton’s top priorities. He knew that we need to start with our kids to make it happen. The Jackman School is now honouring Jack’s environmental commitment and support for school programs with a tree dedication in his name.

MP Olivia Chow was present for the recent ceremony. In front of hundreds of kids, parents and teachers, she spoke at the dedication of the Eastern Redbud tree. Olivia thanked the kids and faculty for continuing Jack’s legacy with a broad range of ecology and human rights initiatives.
